Pastor Bobby Allen Davis • A Man of Integrity, Faith, and Vision

Pastor Bobby Allen Davis has served faithfully in the ministry for over 20 years. Born the sixth of nine boys on July 20, 1956. In 1978, at the age of 21, he gave his life to the Lord and was filled with the Holy Ghost. One year later, he entered into the ministry and in June 1980 he was ordained as an Elder by the late Bishop H. B. Daniels, Sr. of Portland, Oregon.

During the first 13 years of his ministry, he served in several positions in the church; Janitor, Bus Driver, Chairman of the Deacons Board, YPWW President, Youth President, and Associate Pastor. Throughout his many years of ministry, Elder Davis has served under four pastors, Bishop A. R. Hopkins, Bishop. A. J. Shankle, the late Bishop W.A. Alexander, and the late Supt. F. E. Knight.

Under the tutelage of each of these ministers, Elder Davis has been commended for his humbleness, faithfulness, and dedicated support to the leadership and the ministry. In December 1992, after the homegoming of RSCC's founder, Supt. F. E. Knight, Bishop Charles E. Blake appointed Elder Bobby A. Davis Pastor of Refreshing Spring Community Church.

During his tenure, Pastor Davis has sought God for His vision, laid before the Lord for His anointing, and obeyed the direction given to him by God. As a result, Refreshing Spring Community Church has been tremendously blessed. Despite great opposition, lack of funds, and a small membership, Pastor Davis continued to be steadfast, unmovable, and he abound in the work of the Lord to accomplish the vision the Lord had given him.

Since his appointment as Pastor, he has seen his membership diminish down to 25, but the Lord continued to bless and the membership roster has now grown to nearly 400. Under the administrative leadership of Pastor Davis, RSCC has purchased the apartment complex adjacent to the church and extensively remodeled the former edifice and rededicated it as the F. E. Knight Memorial Chapel.

In 1997, the Lord moved upon Pastor Davis to lead the church in the purchase of three parcels of land and to build the beautiful edifice we now worship in. In the year 2000, God gave Pastor Davis the next phase of His vision for Refreshing Spring Community Church -- "Vision 2005".

After building this beautiful edifice to worship the Lord, Pastor Davis now has a steadfast determination to lead God's people into no longer being a people building a church - BUT A CHURCH BUILDING PEOPLE.

A church that provides ministries that not only lead God's people to Christ, but develops them both naturally and spiritually. After 14 plus years of dedicated service, Pastor Davis continues to seek God and humbly serve God's people. He is an anointed teacher, preacher, and spiritual leader.

He is a visionary with the gifts of faith and administration and it is with these gifts that he will continue to lead the members and ministries of Refreshing Spring Community Church into their destiny.
